Little Squid League is an online grassroots Splatoon tournament series. At the time I took over design and production (LSL 12, April 2021) its only branding was the round logo. Using that as a jumping off point, I wanted to create a big and bold look that would help solidify Little Squid League as a major player in what was then a crowded field of low-level tournaments by creating a feature-rich livestream package and promotional graphics for social media. Since the beginning of rebranding, participation grew from 27 teams in April 2021 to a peak of 103 teams in July 2023, with viewership increases to match.

Overlays are built in Open Broadcaster Software with assets made in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects (both prerendered and rendered dynamically with Nexrender) and some Python scripting to hold it all together.
